Choose a complete system
Ask for the product line and manufacturer installation instructions. Compare the proposed style, gate system, post reinforcement and how the installation handles changes in grade.
Understand maintenance and repairs
Ask how to clean the product, which parts can be replaced and whether matching parts remain available. “Low maintenance” should be explained with care instructions rather than a promise that the fence will never need attention.
Review the warranty
Distinguish the manufacturer’s material warranty from the installer’s workmanship warranty. Ask about exclusions and who handles a claim. Include the gate hardware and any removal work in the written price.
